ART NET Survey named him among the 50 most exciting artists in Europe in 2017, describing his work as encompassing analogue photography, photo painting, video, film, immersive media, architectural sculptures and performance installations.
Quraishi engages in research, teaching and creative work simultaneously across cities and institutions including Lumen Travo Amsterdam, Crone Galerie Berlin, Sharjah Art Foundation, MoCA Taipei, Kraftwerk Mitte Dresden, Institut du Monde Arabe Paris, Mediations Biennale Polska Poznań, Parliament of Bodies at DOCUMENTA 14 Kassel, Kochi-Muziris Biennale Kerala, National Museum Singapore, Africa Center Cape Town, Kunsthalle Vienna, Japan Foundation Tokyo, the 4th Baku International Biennale, Rubin Museum of Art New York, and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, among others.
In November 2024, Quraishi premiered his latest multiplayer VR experience, ROAMance, at IDFA’s New Media DocLab in Amsterdam. He has also been completing Walls Are Tumbling Down, a contemporary musical cantata involving Jewish, Arab, Afro-German and local Dresden musicians, which had a public rehearsal at Staatsschauspiel Dresden in February 2025 ahead of its official debut as a seven-part installation cantata across seven cities in 2027-28. From February to March 2025, he presented the solo exhibition Radius: The Gaze Beyond Vision at Galerie Lumen Travo Amsterdam, featuring two drone films shot in Yemen and an immersive sound installation exploring perspectives from active war zones.
Quraishi holds a BA in MELAC/Philosophy from Columbia University, New York, where he studied under Edward Said, and an MA in Art & Cultural Sciences from Universiteit Utrecht. He is currently a Doctoral Fellow in Rural Sociology at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
